Padding between menu bar and hero slider widget

Hi,
There seems to be a lot of padding between my logo and menu bar at the top of the page, and the hero slider widget below it, however I can’t seem to reduce it, even when I try to use the Custom CSS plug-in.

I am currently using the Virtue free layout.

My website is http://herplacemuseum.com/

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,
Sophie

    Hi Sophie

    Thanks for reaching out.

    If you still need help with this problem we’d need to see your site live to inspect and investigate. It looks like you have a maintenance mode plugin activated at the moment.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Thanks :)

    The padding in question is originating from the theme’s styles. You can try adding the following to a Custom CSS plugin like SiteOrigin CSS to remove some of this padding on the home page only:

    .home .contentclass {
        margin-top: -10px;
        padding-top: 0;
    }

    Hope that helps.
