I am currently using the social media buttons from the site origins widget bundle, with the wire theme enabled. The default is for the outlines to be colored, and unfortunately the css rules that set the colors are marked as important, which seems to make it impossible to override.
I have found that I can overwrite this css file at /public_html/wp-content/uploads/siteorigin-widgets/ and remove the important designation, after which I am able to target and change the color of the classes.
But the problem I have found, is that if I make any changes to the SiteOrigin settings, the css will again be overwritten by the widget, which once again adds the important designation and overrides the modified css file. At which point I will have to go and overwrite the css file once again to make my own css rules stick.
Is there any way around this dance?
css file I am referring to is:
sow-social-media-buttons-wire-xxx.css
css rule I am referring to is:
.so-widget-sow-social-media-buttons-wire-xxx .sow-social-media-button-facebook-0 {
color: #3a5795 !important;
}
Hi, thanks for getting in touch.
All plugins and themes will overwrite code level changes when the author releases an update.
I’ve taken a look and, unfortunately, wasn’t able to find an easy way to override the Wire theme’s border settings. I’ve logged a request to introduce a Border Color setting for the Wire theme. I’ve logged the request at the below URL:
https://github.com/siteorigin/so-widgets-bundle/issues/1706
Sorry, I don’t have better news at the moment.
No worries. Thanks for the reply and the explanation.
Thanks for your reply and understanding; it’s most appreciated.
Cheers for now.
