Overlapping text in page builder backend

Notice: This thread is over two years old; the information may be outdated. Please consider creating a new thread if you require free support. If you have an active SiteOrigin Premium license, you can email our premium support desk at [email protected].

Hi everyone: I’m having a hard time seeing some of the options in my page builder backend. As I open more of the accordion dropdowns, I start to get overlapping text. In order to re-collapse these dropdowns, I have to Update the page and then go back in to the page builder options for that page. Attached is a screen shot of what I see.

Has anyone experienced this or know how to fix it? Thanks!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Aprinsen,

    That’s odd – haven’t seen this happen before. The first thing that comes to mind is trying it in a different browser. If that doesn’t fix the issue I would then try a plugin conflict test. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

    If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

    Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

    If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related. Which which unlikely could be the culprit.

    If all of the above fail would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

    Just navigate to UsersAdd New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the Send Password field so we receive the details.

    Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

    Hi Alex, thank you for the quick and thorough reply.

    I went through the plugin conflict troubleshooting as you mentioned and I think I identified the problem: Slider Revolution. All my other plugins can be activated and I have no overlapping text, but as soon as Slider Revolution is activated then I have the issue. I don’t actually use slider revolution in my current setup (it came packaged with my theme) but as I know this is a popular plugin I thought you might want to address is.

    Let me know if you come up with a solution or if it will be in a future update. Thanks again!

    Hi Aprinsen,

    Thanks for letting us know about this. I’ve logged this as a bug in our issue tracker. We’ll investigate this as soon as possible and try to come up with a fix.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Aprinsen,

    Could you confirm if this happens with all widgets, or is it just the Hero widget?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Aprinsen,

    I’ve got a copy of Rev Slider (also from a theme – they really love bundling that apparently) and I’ve run some local tests and I’m unable to replicate this. I really need more information to resolve this issue. Could you please answer the above question and, if possible, send me a copy of your layout if this only happens with the Hero widget.

    Also, what version of Rev Slider was installed? The most current version is 5.1.6.

    Hey Alex, sorry for the delay. To answer your questions:

    – Yes, I do have Rev Slider 5.1.6

    – It also seems to have problems with the SiteOrigin Price Table widget and the SiteOrigin Headline widget (I haven’t tried them all) but again, it’s only when the Revolution slider plugin is activated. The Headline widget doesn’t overlap text, but the accordions seem to stop collapsing after they’ve been opened.

    – Here is the layout that I think you want. This is with Rev Slider activated:

    - It's not affecting the site now, since I keep Rev Slider deactivated, but if you still want to explore it further, let me know how I can help. Though if I'm the only one who has reported the problem, chances are I'm doing something wrong and it's not SiteOrigin.

    Thanks!

    Sorry, that code didn’t come through. Let me see if this works:

    <ul class="sow-slider-images" data-settings="{"pagination":true,"speed":800,"timeout":8000}">		<li class="sow-slider-image sow-slider-image-cover" style="background-color: #333333;background-image: url(https://dhis2training.com/dhis2training/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/dhis2-desktop-3.jpg)">

    				<h1 style="text-align: left">Learn DHIS2</h1><h3 style="text-align: left"><span style="color: #bed630">with other practitioners like you.</span></h3>

    	<a class="ow-button-hover">
    		<span>
    			<span class="sow-icon-fontawesome" data-sow-icon=""></span>
    			View our current courses		</span>
    	</a>

    				</li>
    		</ul>				<ol class="sow-slider-pagination">
    											<li><a href="#" data-goto="0">1</a></li>
    									</ol>

    					<a href="#" data-goto="next" data-action="next">
    						<em class="sow-sld-icon-thin-right"></em>
    					</a>

    					<a href="#" data-goto="previous" data-action="prev">
    						<em class="sow-sld-icon-thin-left"></em>
    					</a>

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Aprinsen,

    You’re the only one who has reported this, yes. I wouldn’t, however, ignore this issue as it might not be user error – it’s worth looking into it regardless.

    Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and make a copy of your website? That way we can replicate the issue without it affecting your site.

    I have the same problem in a pre-bundled installation of theme create from themetrust

      Updated: Worked around also for me temporarily disabling Slider Revolution, finishing editing and then reactivating the Slider Revolution Plugin
