Origami Theme Blog Posts comment form not showing

using origami theme and I cannot get comments to work on blog posts. Setup is as follows

Static Home Page
Separate blog post page
Comments turned on for individual posts
Comments turned on under settings -discussion- people allowed to comment on new posts
Comments turned on for blog post page

I turned on comments for another page and it worked just fine, comment box appeared at the bottom but I cannot get it to work on the blog page.

I have tried setting the number of posts to 1 so each post shows up on separate page, still doesn’t work

very frustrating

    Are you clicking through to the single post page? Using the demo as an example, it isn’t possible to show a comment form per post on the blog page: https://demo.siteorigin.com/origami/ only on the single post page: https://demo.siteorigin.com/origami/2013/05/06/up-in-the-clouds/. To get users from the blog/archive page, consider splitting your posts with the more quicktag https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-properly-use-the-more-tag-in-wordpress/
