Organizing Page Of Posts

Hello.
When you visit my home page, you will see thumbnails of posts from various categories such as technology, entertainment, and science. How can I organize them into columns or rows representing each category? Like this:
The first row could show technology posts, the second could show entertainment posts, and the third could show science posts.
Is there a way to do that? I don’t have a specially-customized home page, i’m just using the default WordPress ‘Show posts’ setting on the front page.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Nicholas

Thanks for reaching out. This can be done using either the Post Loop widget or the SiteOrigin Carousel widget, part of our Widgets Bundle plugin: http://wordpress.org/plugins/so-widgets-bundle/.

If you use the Post Loop widget, select the carousel or grid template option, up to you.

In the Post Loop widget use the Additional field at the bottom to enter an argument as follows:

    cat=x

Where x is the category ID you want to display.

If you go with the SiteOrigin Carousel widget, use the search bar in that widget to start building your loop query. Just start typing category names and you’ll be prompted to select one.

Let us know how that goes.

Is there a way to do this without Page Builder?

    Hi, I Work Here

It would need to be done by a plugin or custom theme development. I’d imagine there are other plugins that can handle this for you. I unfortunately don’t know of any.

Ok. PageBuilder is installed, and I added the Post Carousel widget to a page to test it, but when I click ‘Edit’, it brings up a window with widget style settings, but the big white area to the left shows a loading indicator, and it never loads (the Internet connection is fine, as everything else is loading).

    Hi, I Work Here

What you should be seeing in the Post Carousel widget is a Build Query button on the left when editing the widget. If you’re not, it’s possible there is a plugin conflict. Please try testing with all widgets deactivated except for Page Builder and the Widgets Bundle.

Everything is disabled except the header. :( Would you be able to look at it for me?

    Hi, I Work Here

Sorry I’m not quite with you there. Can you confirm that all plugins have been de-activated? Turn all plugins off and leave Page Builder and the Widgets Bundle plugin, if you have that installed.
