Hi,
I need some advice to optimize my wordpress site. I have done some analysis and my absolute biggest flaw is “Leverage browser caching”. Here I score 0. In addition I need to do some further optimizing of images (I’ve used Eww optimizer and Smuch it), but there are still same images that need to be optimized.
Further improvements needed:
Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS, here I use W3 Cache and Autoptimize, but Google still thinks that there are things that is not good enough. Are there any known problem the theme Vantage, that needs to be fixed through hard coding?
Is there another good way to activate gzip compression for the Vantage themes?
A lot of questions today, but there might be some settings which are better for the specific theme Vantage.
Kind Regards Anders
Hi Anders
Thanks for reaching out.
The Vantage theme setup is pretty standard. We’ve recently added Appearance > Theme Settings > General:
Mobile Adaptive Images
Enqueue JavaScript in Footer
Both are helpful with optimisation.
Beyond that, running a caching plugin as you are is helpful. I also like:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-fastest-cache/
for it’s simple options panel and easy to use setup.
Browser caching should be handled by your caching plugin. I’m not sure why that would still be showing zero, it’s perhaps a good question to raise on your caching plugin’s support page.
Beyond that I’m afraid we move into a more specialist domain that’s a little more than the support we’re able to offer here.
