Hello,
I was just trying to embed a YouTube playlist on my homepage and was unable to do it. I ended up going through about 7 YouTube widgets to find an alternative.
I attempted to use the standard short code and YouTube’s embed code in the standard text widget and Visual Editor widget that are available on Vantage Premium’s home page builder. (/wp-admin/themes.php?page=so_panels_home_page). Both failed.
Is this a known issue, or is my particular website just special?
Hi Wendy
Sorry to hear about the hassle. If your playlist is public, please, send a link to it so we can grab the embed code ourselves and give this a test.
Hello Andrew,
Sure thing. I was able to come back to it today and found that I cannot embed anything from YouTube.

That is the playlist.
I’m also having a lot of trouble with hackers installing malware, and it seems to be getting worse. Last month I was blacklisted by Google, and I’ve cleanup the mess three times since. Not sure if there is a correlation here, but I know sometimes one issue is symptomatic of another
Thanks for reporting. I’ll log this now. You can, in the mean time, click the share button then embed and use the regular iFrame method in the Text tab of the SiteOrigin or Visual Editor widget:
It’s unlikely this challenge is related to any security matters. It’s not my area of speciality but Better WP Security or WordFence plugins would be a good place to start.
Hey Andrew,
Thank you, but I’m not able to use either. It renders an empty box.
I’m working on the home page, with the homepage builder. I’ve tried embedding it in text, and also with the TinyMCE editor suggested by the theme. I’ve also tried several plugins that promise to show YouTube videos and have had no success. My old video service, Blip, worked perfectly.
Here’s the iframe code I’d like to embed:
If you have Black Studio TinyMCE plugin installed then try inserting the Visual Editor widget. Your iFrame code must be inserted into the Text tab of the Visual Editor widget. Works on my side.
Huh, and now it works. I had tried inserting it with Black Studio before — several times — and it failed over and over again. I think the site knew you were watching.
You may consider this case closed.
Super :)
Thanks for reporting the bug. We’ll attend to that ASAP.
All the best.
Dear Wendy, Sorry to disturb you, but i cant send you a private message (as i could not find the way…), can you please inform me on how you embedded the feeds from you facebook and twitter account??
@palaenium I created widgets using Facebook and Twitter’s services. I can’t remember exactly where I found the service, but it was a little tricky to find. I think i found it by searching for widget and developer tools.
Hope this helps!
@Andrew – it’s happening again. I’m about to yank my hair out!
Please have a look at http://hotkitchen.cooking and tell me if you see the playlist on the left just below the first horizontal divider in the body.
Try using the following URL:
https://youtu.be/sLPEcrQeNbQ?list=PLC7010F1902B0778F
In place of the URL you’re currently using for the first item.
Hello Andrew — it doesn’t seem to have worked.
Hi Wendy
Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:
[email protected]
Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.
Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.
@Andrew – I finally got back to my site and set up an admin account. Please see what you can do to diagnose the playlist issue on the front page. The URL is there right now.
What’s weird is that it shows for a little bit, then I come back to check it the next day and it’s reverted to just showing the URL.
*fingers crossed*!
Thanks Wendy. Please, could you send us our login details using the Private Reply checkbox below the comment form.

Thanks. No love with this password. I’ll try reset.
Okay, fingers crossed. Thanks so much! I’ve fixed a lot of things on WordPress before, so normally I can figure it out after some trial and error. But this is the trickiest problem I’ve met to date!
Unfortunately, I’m unable to login or reset. Please, could you manually change our password and send via Private Reply checkbox below. Thanks.

Please, check the video now. WP Fastest Cache was throwing errors, I deactivated and the video shows.
Do you know why you’ve inserted Google Analytics tracking code in a Text widget on the home page? Can we help you set that up?
I need to step out. When I get back in a bit I’ll log back in and sort out another caching plugin for you.
Let me know if the problem is solved on your side. We can look at caching and Analytics after that.
