Hi There, I saw another post that has the exact same issue as me – I can see the words in the widgets in the back end but not on the front end
I updated the plugin, it has a fit and deactivates and deletes itself but the folder is still in my C Panel files, so I follow instructions on one of your other threads about deleting the folder, which i did and then i reinstalled the widgets bundle again and it sent my I/O usage through the roof (but it did show me my content on the front end of the website)
After slowing my website down dramatically i deactivated it and removed it which stopped my I/O Usage going through the roof but now i also cant reinstall the plug in as when i try and install again it makes my server time out completely and my entire website is riding on my getting this plug in to work so im hoping there is a solution :)
Hi DF,
Ah. Based on the provided information, it sounds like the update failed (for whatever reason), and but it an ongoing failure – in other words, WordPress was still trying to update when you reinstalled the plugin (it’s likely that it simply never stopped). As such, I would try manually updating to avoid this issue (as in, update via FTP rather than WordPress). You can download the latest version of the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle by clicking here. Please connect to your website via FTP and then navigate to wp-content/plugins and delete so-widgets-bundle. Upload the contents of so–widgets-bundle.zip and then you should be good to go.
Typically, WordPress update issues are very rare (and especially of this magnitude) so it’s unlikely this will happen again for the next update.
Hi Alex, I did do this and got the same issue but I will try again in a couple of days just to be sure its done properly. I am only waiting a couple of days to a when my live website will be less active as it slows down my website when doing this. So i will update you afterwards and let you know how ive gone thanks :)
