North Theme – Font colours

I am investigating the North them and have tried using the Customise; Theme Settings; Fonts Colours options but they don’t seem to change anything in the body of a page. The Dark Text colour does seem to change Header colours (as long as they are not within a Page Builder widget) and the Medium Text colour does seem to affect text in Footer Widgets but I cannot see how to change the default text on a page or text in a Page Builder Widget on a page.

Has anyone else seen this problem (it looks like a bug to me) or am I completely missing the point of these settings?

Chris

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Chris

    Thanks for reaching out.

    If you’re still working this problem, please, could you send us a link to the page in question. It’s possible that the widgets in question have styles that are taking precedence over the theme settings. I’m sure we can correct once we’ve taken a look.

    Thanks again :)

    Hi Andrew

    Thanks for responding.

    Unfortunately I am doing this work on a Desktop Server – so not accessible via the internet.

    However I can advise that this problem is true for text in both SiteOrigin
    Editor widgets (on a Page Builder page) and also for plain text (for example the auto-generated "Sample Page" and also for text in Posts (including the auto generated "Hello World!" post).

    The "Main Font" setting does affect the text but not the text colour settings as mentioned in my original report.

    Hopefully someone can check this out.

    FYI I am using a recently installed version of North (1.1.3) and the latest version of WordPress (4.4.2)

    Hi, I Work Here

    Thanks, Chris.

    Please, try the following in a Custom CSS plugin like SiteOrigin CSS:

    .page-content,.entry-content,.entry-summary {
        color: #565656;
    }

    Adjust as required.

    Apologies for the hassle. I’ll check the North bug reports now and log this if it hasn’t been logged already.

    FYI that works – up to a point…. The non-widget text changes OK but where text is in a widget only the first one on the page changes and now the text in the footer doesn’t change (which before was the only text that did change!)
    Good luck.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Thanks for your feedback and assistance, it’s most appreciated :)

    It’ll be easiest to troubleshoot this once your site is live but going on my local testing, the footer text is changed by AppearanceCustomizeTheme SettingsFontsMedium Text Color. I’m testing with a Text widget in the footer and it isn’t impacted by the CSS rules I sent above.

    With regards to text color changes with widgets, it should be super quick to fix this once we can inspect the elements live. Would it perhaps be possible to continue with your site development and then return to this challenge once the site is live? We could then jump in and assist with these final changes.
