There are code errors in my north template that is responsible for extremely slow download speed
Google Speedtest is only 49 I tried every catche with out result
Hi Juergen,
SiteOrigin North, by default (without caching or minify), is in the 80’s so we suspect that there’s another plugin greatly affecting your score, or your content is causing you issues (which isn’t uncommon).
Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s causing you issues?
https://just-nailed-it.com
I don't think it is the north template either. However, it must have something to do with the consultant import that I installed for example there is an Issue with a google fond and I already compressed all Images.
Naturally plugins have a effect as well but what you do if you need them.
Hi Juergen,
I just had a look and your scores are much higher than 43 (I get 63 and 73) – what page were you testing when you got that score? Regardless, please install WP Super Cache and then Better WordPress Minify. Once BWP is isntalled, please navigate to WP AdminBWP MinifyEnqueued Files and find siteorigin-panels-front (file: front-flex.css) and select it. Click Not Minify and then Save.
Can’t see this file? Please click clear list and then view a few pages to refresh the enqueued files list.
Alex, I have 60 and 73 now. However, I have not even made any adjustments to the cache. I noticed today that the livemesh testimonial slider widget disappeared? I tried to remove the plugin and re install a fresh download but the widget is still missing.
On my sub domain that uses the same template for my store it is still fine….any suggestions?
Thank you very much for your help
Hi Juergen,
To clarify, how did you try and remove the plugin? Did you navigate to WP AdminPluginsInstalled Plugins and delete Livemesh SiteOrigin Widgets and then reinstall it? Just trying to confirm you didn’t try and remove it in a non-standard way.
To clarify, you mentioned cache. What cache did you install? Is the widget missing on the front end or in Page Builder itself? Are you able to see the widget by navigating to WP AdminPluginsSiteOrigin Widgets?
Can I disable Google funds because they keep showing as render blocking. I followed the suggested google help and uploaded the file for the funds without any effect
I used too many cache to find one that works but I am not sure that that is the responsible app maybe it felt victim to compression eitherway I removed in normal matter through the back end plugs in WP
I will give this a second try this evening and clear cache or reboot after removal and install it through WP.org see if that will help To answer your question the widget is missing in the package all the other ones are there.
As far as the sites speed goes the thing is not stable
I had it up to 75 -91 and thought I had it but next day it was down to
50-73 I don't get this.
Also I run other tests and they tell me all is good?
Thanks for your help
Hi Juergen,
Regarding Google Fonts, I’d like to help you with doing this, but unfortunately, this is beyond the scope of the support we’re able to offer on our free forums. There is a fair amount of custom work involved.
We do offer this level of support to our premium users, so if you’d like to upgrade to SiteOrigin Premium, then I can help you over email support.
If you’d prefer not to upgrade to SiteOrigin Premium, then you can hire a WordPress developer from Codeable. They’ll charge you an hourly rate for any work done.
I suspect the difference in score is due to the cache not being present during the test. What happens after you retest it after getting the lower score?
Google Page speed is very… well, it’s selective and doesn’t provide much information. So certain things aren’t really much of an issue (such as the render blocking – Google Fonts causing that is a minor “issue” at best) but as it doesn’t show how important things actually are, it’s honestly not a very good tool. I would recommend using Pingdom.
Alex,
First of all, I want to thank you for your time invested in my case.
1. I want to work with the cache first by activating things step by step to see if it helps or breaks my site.
2. I have been considering the upgrade because I like the page builder options. However, since I am working on multiple sites the ticket was a bit higher than what I can / want to invest for -email support when I do not even know where or what am I doing? One reason why your suggested Best WP
Minify is awesome.
3. I wonder if I should use a free CDN solution and if that would fix my problem. I seem to remember that Cloudfare worked well. However, It is only working for the main domain in the free version and bypasses sub domains where I have my Amazon Assochiat store located. (Woo-Commerce on the same
Template) I am considering to change it at this point.
4. Alternatively, I could purchase a Template and get my free support that way.?
In regards to your question, each time when the score dropped I had to deal with the same problems like the cache would not save my settings. That brings up the question if there maybe tracks in my .htaccess file or somewhere else left. I believe it was W3totalcache or so that did not clean up right after itself and I removed the files with the help of wordfence security.
Well, I will jump now and see if I can get my widget fixed and will keep you posted on that one
Again thank you so much and be assured if I upgrade I will not remove your site origin ad in the bottom to support what you guys do.
Juergen
Hi Juergen,
1. That’s fine.
2. Thank you for your interest. Consider picking up a single license and upgrading later when you need help with other parts of the site. That’ll help spread out the cost over time rather than a single fee all at once. For reference, here are the upgrade steps:
1. Log into the dashboard: Page: Dashboard
2. Click Order History.
3. Click View Licenses.
4. Click View Upgrades.
5. Click Upgrade License next to the desired license type.
You’ll only need to pay the difference between your original license and your new license.
3. It’s worth a try. A dedicated CDN just for assets could also be seen as an alternative route as the server you’re on honestly isn’t slow. My advice would be to try both and see which one gets you the best results.
4. Unfortunately, we no longer sell any other premium products at this time. This sadly means that the only way to get premium support is to purchase SiteOrigin Premium.
I removed the cache I think my biggest issue is that I have about 20 plugins running. Do I need to run all these widget plugins for the site design? BTW the super cache is installed not sure if its right though because I turned on the check front-page test and entered the first line of my copy on the static frontpage and get the message that the cache clears frontpage not found? Also the cache in standard install does not change my upload time more but 2-3 points.
Got the widget fixed. cleaned not needed plugins, setup suggested cache.
