Nort theme Safari navigation issue

Hi,

I’m using North theme with Page Buider (great tool!) for my website http://tawerna.dmuchawce.eu/.
During browsing website with Safari (on Mac and iPhone) my navigation jumps and disappear when page is scrolling down.
What is wrong with that? :)

Thanks for any suggestion.

    Hi Mirek

    Thanks for your feedback.

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.

Thanks for sharing. Would you perhaps like to try our development version of North to see if that helps? As long as you haven’t directly edited theme files at a code level, there won’t be any problems with doing this.

    You can find it here:
    https://siteorigin.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/siteorigin-north.dev_.zip

    1. Go to AppearanceThemes and switch to any other theme.
    2. Delete North.
    3. Install the dev version from AppearanceThemesAdd NewUpload Theme.

Retest and let me know how it goes.

I did change theme for dev but navigation still jumps.

I’ve noticed that “back to top” button appears different on Safari than on other browser. Is it possible reason for this problem?

Thanks for trying. Please, can you check, does the header still jump if you temporarily remove the entire contents of your Custom CSS?

I did it, but with no good results so far.

Apologies, what I should have asked is, do you see the same issue when testing the demo in Safari:

Thank you for your help Andrew.

Demo on Safari jumps in the same way. I’ve used this theme to build other site (as one page) and in this case menu on mobile works fine (http://dolcevita-nieporet.pl/).

I have no idea what I’m doing wrong :)

One obvious difference between the two is the tagline in the header. Can you try adding the tagline to the site that is not jumping and see if that makes any difference?

I have the exact same problem (using safari 9.1.1 on my Mac). Header navigation is flickering/jumping/stuttering when scrolling. Using Firefox instead works fine!

The north demo site is affected as well. Can you please help us out? Do you need more information?

    thanks

Thanks for reaching out. We’re going to temporarily disable the sticky header on mobile while we resolve these issues. That change should have been included in the post recent update, please, try updating.

    Hey Andrew,

I just wanted to let you know that the problem still persists. On mobile is not the problem . When I visit http://demo.siteorigin.com/north the header/navigation is jumping respectively stuttering while scrolling down the page :-( On my Page the same thing…

It has something to do with my safari browser, because with chrome and firefox that effect won’t come up.

Do you guys already have reproduced that phenomena? Im running OS X EL Cap- 10.11.5 with Safari 9.1.1

I would love to use north with smooth scrolling, because its such a gorgeous theme :D Meanwhile I will disable the sticky nav.

I don’t think the demo has been updated recently, let me take a look.

  14. Andrew Misplon Staff 9 years, 8 months ago

The demo has been updated from 1.2 to 1.2.2 now. You can try testing it again. Thanks.

Confirm that – North theme is nice & clean. One of my fav.

Thanks for confirming Mirek, appreciate it.

    Sorry to bother you again.

The issue still persists to me :-( . I tested it on a Macbook Pro retina 13 and a MacBook Air.

–> I found out that the navigation header-bar only jumps when using the integrated touchpad on my devices. Using an external mouse everything works well. It is not possible that I am the only one facing this problem.

Hoping you guys can reproduce the scroll lag that I have. Im so sorry :-(

Are you using Safari? It seems like it’s Safari specific, apologies. Please, see: Thread: North Theme — Banner flickers when scrolling up/down. If it’s the Safari bug then I’ve logged it here: https://github.com/siteorigin/siteorigin-north/issues/142.
