    The problem was solved. It was because a conflict between the new version and our child theme.

    Some info for anyone else reading:

    We removed the hgroup tag in the header to keep up with changing markup standards. We did however keep a div in the same location with hgroup as a class name. So if anyone is running Custom CSS with hgroup in it, just put a period in front of the word hgroup and that will resolve the problem.

    Before:

    hgroup

    After

    .hgroup
