No Images with Carousel Widget

When I add the carousel widget to my homescreen the articles show up but there are no thumbnails. Is there a way to add them? I’ve tried everything and it doesn’t work.

    Thanks for the long wait. It’s an easy fix, each post needs a featured image. Here is how you can add featured images:
