” Newbie Warning ” Sydney Theme Create Custom Links

8 years ago · Last reply by Chris Gawlik 8 years ago

I tried to create a custom link by using the revert to text editor button. This changed the view of the theme and made it hard to follow the youtube tutorial. I understand this is not advised because its hard to bring the correct view back to help me build the site. My question is can I still link to different spots on the home page with out the revert to text editor button. For instance while building the site I wanted the menu to point to a row on the home page. Not a different page. On the homepage, I have 4 or 5 different widgets and wanted to point to pricing from the menu and our work for example. I can do it with the revert to text editor button but am not going through all that again because the view will not be the same anymore.

I hope you can understand my newbie question. Sorry. Thanks.

    Hi Chris,

Yes, this is possible without directly editing the markup. Please open or widget you wish to link to and head over to the row/widget styles sidebar and open the Attribute settings group. Set the Row/Widget ID as desired and then save. Now, you can link to that section using a typical page jump.

I would recommend giving this video a watch for a visual example of how to set the row id – skip the section mentioning page settings part as you don’t need to do that.
