    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mark,

You can select a specific post by selecting it in the Post Type field:

If you’re looking to select a relevant category, please open the Taxonomy field and type the name of the category.

Can you please show me a screenshot of what you’re seeing? We’re currently unable to process attachments so you’ll need to upload the screenshot to a third party image hosting site like Imgur or vgy.me.

    Alex,
Thanks for the reply — for example if you go to my test site http://www.ibidie.com and look the widget at the bottom. I am using Services as my post type — where is the “Post” at — I’ve looked in pages, posts, media?
For example where does it get the :Performance Auditing
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consetetur sadipscing elitr, sed diam nonumy eirmod tempor invidunt ut labore et dolore magna aliquyam erat, sed diam voluptua.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mark,

Unfortunately, I’m not too sure. I would recommend running a plugin conflict test. This is not to suggest this is a plugin conflict, only that this test is a good way of working out what plugin is adding what.

For reference, here are our plugin conflict test instructions:
This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Alex,
I’ve disabled most of the plugins — but I looked at the wp_posts table and I can see them there but they are not accessible in Posts. What is the default query that Post Query uses? And also what is the query that is used to populate the Post Type?
    Thanks
    Mark

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mark,

The highlighted Service post type are different to the posts post type so they won’t appear in WP AdminPostsAll Posts. You’ll need to disable plugins to find what plugin is adding the Services post type as it is not a standard post type.

Unfortunately, I’m unable to provide you with the default SiteOrigin Post Carousel Post Carousel as it’s generated on the fly based on selections. You can default values by adding a new Post Carousel and then opening the Post Query settings group.

And also what is the query that is used to populate the Post Type?

Unfortunately, this isn’t something we can assist you with. We’re not too sure what is adding the Services Post Type so we’re unable to provide instructions on adding more Services.

Disabling the plugins and selectively re-adding fixed it.
    Thank you
