Hello, I just downloaded Page Builder by SiteOrigin today, and I cannot see the Page Builder tab when I either edit an existing page or try to create a new one. The only tabs I can see are the Visual and HTML tabs.
I am running Windows 10
WordPress ver 4.9.1
Page Builder by SiteOrigin 2.6.0 (installed and activated)
I also have
Akismet AntiSpam 4.0.2
AMP (deactivated)
Jetpack 5.6.1
SiteOrigin CSS 1.1.5
SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle 1.11.2
VaultPress 1.9.4
I’m not sure what I have or have not done. Page Builder is definitely installed and activated. Any help or ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated, and I’m happy to provide more information if necessary. Thank you!
Hi Azriona
Can you please try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related?
If this issue remains with a default theme, what post type are you trying to edit? One of the default ones?
Can you please try opening a page that should have page builder tab present and send me the contents of your console? Please refer to this guide on how to access your browser console.
I started off with a WP theme, Button, and the tab was not visible. I switched to a Site Origin theme, Vantage, and the tab is still not visible. If there is another, specific theme, you’d like me to try, I’m more than happy to do so.
The post types are Standard. (I don’t usually use any other type.)
I opened a brand-new page before opening the Console. And what do you know, it appears there’s an error – not that I have a clue how to fix it! Just for fun, I also tried to open a new blog post, as well as some older posts and pages, and they all had this error message (or something similar, I admit I did not go through line by line) as well.

Thank you, Alex, and I look forward to your reply. Happy Holidays!
Hi Azriona,
That error message suggests this may be a browser extension issue. Are you able to use Page Builder without issue in a different browser?
Happy Holidays mate! :)
I’m using Chrome at the moment. I just tried in Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge – both appear to be the same. I’m happy to try Firefox or another browser, but I won’t be able to download it until later this afternoon or evening. (I can also copy the console codes from those browsers at that point, if it’ll help.)
Hi Azriona,
Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?
This is a private message.

Okay, you should be all set up. Thank you (and good luck)!
Hi Azriona,
Thanks. Unfortunately, Jetpack is setup to only allow logins through WordPress.com and the provided email address doesn’t have a WordPress.com account so we’re unable to log in. Can you please temporarily disable the Jetpack WordPress.com Secure Sign On?
This can be done by navigating to WP AdminJetpackSettings and open the Security tab. Untick the the WordPress.com log in settings.
I’m very sorry about this!
Goodness, nothing for you to be sorry about! The setting is unticked, hopefully that works!
Hi Azriona,
Thanks – I was able to log in without issue. :)
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to replicate this issue. I had a look around and you don’t appear to have used Page Builder on any pages. That’s not correct, right? If so, can you please link me to a page where you’ve used Page Builder on?
I’ve set up a test SiteOrigin page Builder page and it appears to be working without issue for me:
https://penelope-peters.com/siteorigin-test-page/
This page looks like this in the backend for me:
If it doesn’t look like this for you, can you please try editing the linked page using my account and if that doesn’t help, are you able to edit the page on another computer?
Oh my.
You know, I think I figured it out, and it was something I was doing. What I’ve always been doing when I edit my pages is not to go through the web admin interface, but a different interface – I’m not sure what it’s called? It’s more blue and grey and white and it’s what I automatically go to when I click “my site” in the top left-hand corner. And in that view, I don’t see the tab.
I never realized (and this is ALL ME and the fact that I’m still a newbie when it comes to WordPress) that there was another way to edit or create pages. When I open pages to edit from the admin interface, I have a PageBuilder Tab.
So basically, this is me being an idiot and I should be good now and thank you very much for taking the time and especially for posting that picture of what you saw because without that, I’d still be lost. The moment I saw it, I knew what to do.
Thank you, Alex! I’m sorry I’m an idiot!
Hi Azriona,
Ah. That’s fine mate. I’m just happy that you’re site is working as desired. :)
I would recommend giving the SiteOrigin Page Builder getting started guide a quick read.
Absolutely, I’m going to do that now. Thank you for your help and patience!
