New site works locally but Page Builder function disappears after publishing

9 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 9 years ago

Hi

I’m using WP 4.5.3 and Page Builder 2.4.9 with theme VerySimpleStart by Dessky

I have developed the site under MAMP on my Mac and have been impressed by the functionality of Page Builder.

The website is linked to the same database I have used to develop so the only changes required were the URL and home links in the database once I published the site.

However, after publishing all formatting and layouts created by Page Builder have disappeared and the site looks bad. I have disabled all other Plugins even though they worked fine locally. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Page Builder but with no success.

The Page Builder tab is visible but all configured widgets and page content formatting has gone.

I can create new content using Page Builder and all is fine so it works, but I need to recover my published site.

    Hi Frank,

How are you switching over the site urls? Is it via a simple text search and replace? If so, that’s the issue. SiteOrigin Page Builder stores its post data in a serialized form so if you simple text search and replace and not a full serialized search and replace the data can become broken.

Hi, yes I used Velvet Blue to update the URL’s but still having issues, I have also used a serialised search and replace script found here https://gist.github.com/mkdizajn/5095271, but these didn’t work either.

It appears that my hosting company cannot handle your page builder functions.

I have relocated the site to another host and all is working fine.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Hi Frank,

That’s really weird. Could you let me know the name of the hosting company? I would recommend marking your reply as private by ticking the Private Reply checkbox.
