Hi,
I’m getting this mobile suability issue notice from google console.
“To the owner of https://johnnoblemartin.com/:
Search Console has identified that your site is affected by 2 Mobile Usability issues:
Top Issues
The following issues were found on your site:
Viewport not set
Text too small to read
We recommend that you fix these issues when possible to enable the best experience and coverage in Google Search.”
Any idea why this might be happening? The smallest text I’ve used is 12px which I thought was okay. Are there some viewport settings I need to attend to? I’m using your Unwind Theme.
Many thanks,
Johnn
Hi John
Thanks for reaching out.
From what I can see, the viewport is set, I’m not sure why that warning is being presented. https://imgur.com/a/L4s4IRj.
In my experience, this part of the search console is really tough to use, Google doesn’t explicitly say where the issue is on the page so you have to guess, make changes, re-run the check and see if passes. I’m not sure which text is the issue. It might be something like the blog post category which is white with a dark background (NEWS for example). If this is something you’d like to pursue you could perhaps use SiteOrigin CSS to make text size adjustments to elements you think might be the issue and re-run the test.
Hi Andrew,
Apologies for the slow reply. I didn’t get a notification about your reply. All sorted now. For some reason google was assuming my site had not be updated even though console showed a recent crawl. Anyway, I resubmitted as fixed and all seems okay now.
Many thanks,
John
Super, glad to hear it. Thanks for letting us know. Cheers for now :)
