Hello
I’m using polylang and page builder to set up a site with manually translated copies of each page. The problem I’m experiencing is with the footer.
I need a language-specific copyright text and a “terms and conditions” link in there, so I was using SiteOrigin widgets to create one row per language (3 in total) with those items. Each widget is set to show only for one language.
However, the widgets all show up… How can I ensure only one line is displayed at the same time?
Cheers,
Tim
Hi Tvb,
Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.
Sure, here’s the current site:
Right now, I’ve displayed only the English T&C link. If I add more languages, they all show up regardless of the option to show them for just one language.

Hi Tvb,
Sorry for the delay.
I really need to see the footer in a broken form. Hm, would it be possible for you to set up the widgets and set them as inactive? If so, would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so I can set the widgets as active when I’m able to help?

Hi Tvb,
Oddly, this only happens if the first widget is English. You should contact Polylang about that as that doesn’t seem to be connected to us.
Please add the following CSS to WP AdminAppearanceCustom CSS to correct the widget is present:
I’ll contact Polylang then, many thanks for having a look.
What exactly did you see when not putting the English widget first? Whatever language I set on the first right-sided widget, I always seem to see all three of them.
Hi Tvb,
When English wasn’t first, the correct widget (language wise) would be the only one showing. If you would like to see this please view your dev website as the widgets are currently set up like that.
What I see on dev now is that when selecting English, it’s correct but Dutch is showing no widget and German is showing all three. Strange behavior whatsoever though, I hope Polylang can shed some light. I’ll keep you posted.
Hi Tvb,
That’s intentional. :S I don’t actually know how to spot the differences between German (without accents) and Dutch so I selected a random non-English language. Sorry about that!
