Hi

I am very mush a newbie with wordpress so bear with me please.

I was wondering how you code / insert the navigation buttons in a page e.g. the previous, page number and next buttons. you see them at the bottom of a page when for example you have a long list that is spread over a lot of pages.

Is this a widget or coded?

many thanks for all the help in advance.

    Hi Simo,

That’s code rather than a dedicated widget. Here’s the Codex for pagination.

Was there something specifically you wanted to know?

    Alex,

Many thanks for the info and I will try to improve my knowledge by reading it, as I am very much a newbie.

As far as what I am trying to achieve, I was trying to save the reader having to scroll down too far when reading long content.

Also as I am still learning wp, especially the vantage theme, it is trying to understand what I can do with css/html rather than widgets and expand the user experience.

Many thanks again and keep up the great work and I will be buying the premium license soon.

    Kind Regards

    James |

    Hi Simo,

I can’t recommend the HTML and CSS tutorials from HTML Dog enough. I got my start from their old (and very outdated) book and can vouch for how good they are for a beginner.

    Hi Alex,
many thanks for the reference material. Nothing wrong with old material to build a foundation on… I still remember CCPM MSDOS and win 3.11 for principals…. :)

    Keep up the great work.

    Hi Simo,

Oh, trust me the tutorials I referenced are anything but outdated.
