Moving from Localhost to the Web

I’m quite new to WordPress so please excuse my lack of knowledge.
I have started building a website offline in Localhost using Pagebuilder.
I now have a domain to put it on however after following countless tutorials I still cant get it to load the page builder data/settings. The content appears but only in HTML format and my theme settings have also been lost.

Is anyone able to post a in depth tutorial on how I can get my site online looking exactly like it does in Localhost from start to finish?

I would appreciate any help!
Kind regards, Ollie

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Olliehough,

While I can provide you a full tutorial on how to do this you would be much better off if you make use of the Duplicator plugin which we can confirm works with all of our plugin, and themes.

That would be amazing if possible!
I have tried using the duplicator plugin however it does return some errors. A full tutorial would be nice.
If possible also an FTP tutorial would be greatly appreciated as I’m very new to it all.
    Thanks for your time.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Olliehough,

Could you elaborate on the error you encountered? We’ve used the plugin to do hundreds of moves in the past and it honestly is the easiest and most consistent method.

I’m quite reluctant to do a guide now that you’ve mentioned you’re new to FTP due to how technical this process is. I would much rather get Duplicator working for you.

Okay, I could try duplicator again, maybe I was doing something wrong.
Would you be able to post a guide on that?
Im not sure where I went wrong last time, I can try again and post issues I encounter on here if that’s okay.
    Cheers!

I tried Duplicator again, This is the outcome.

I could only import in my data base in MYSQL40 Format.
Im guessing that may be the problem.. Everything looks to load in HTML format all the page builder settings are gone.
Any ideas where I may have gone wrong?

    Cheers!!

My theme settings also haven’t loaded.
Not so hard to change those back though, least of my issues! ;)

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Olliehough,

That’s odd. Just to confirm. You did the exact steps outlined in this video, correct?

I just followed that to a tee and it now asks me to install wordpress. When I give the site a name and type in my credentials it gives me a massive page of errors about 3ks long!
    Try taurangadjs.co.nz now.

    Cheers!

Just checked mySQL and it has only imported 8 of the 20 tables from my localhost.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Olliehough,

Can you please one last time but follow this tutorial, How to Move a Live WordPress Site to Local Server. I would also suggest checking out this article for a tutorial on FTP, How to use FTP to upload files to WordPress for Beginners.

If the above fails, I would recommend reaching out to Duplicator for advice. I’ve been instructed that we can’t provide advice outside of a plugin recommendation for server migrations.
