“more” don’t work in PageBuilder editor

Usually, if I insert “<!–more–>” in a post after a certain number of characters, I will get a short text showing those characters into my homepage for each of the last 5 posts.
This is working fine if I use the ordinary WP posts editor.
If I choose to use PageBuilder for a post composed of different rows, and I insert “<!–more–>” in a text widget inserted into a top single row, the “read more” button will not appear and the full post will appear instead on the home page.

Thanks in advance for your help

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Renato,

Unfortunately, I can’t seem to replicate this issue. Are you using the latest version of SiteOrigin Page Builder (2.5.6)?

Would it be possible for you to send me an export for this widget? To do this open up the page with the widget and click Layout button in the Page Builder toolbar. Then click import/export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as teknik.io.

    Thanks Alex for your support.
    I’m using SiteOrigin Builder 2.5.8
    The site is http://www.aimsc.it.
If you visit the home page you will notice that on the bottom part (below the fold), on the left side, the first of the last five article appears entirely rather than show (as expected) the text truncated by the “–more–” tag.

    The post affected is http://www.aimsc.it/raccolta-degli-interventi-delle-presentazioni-del-xiii-congresso-28-maggio-2017
View-source and see the tag “more” at line 312.

Sorry but unfortunately your suggestion of providing the page layout does not work for me.
If I click on the layout of the post, I get the “Page Builder Layouts” window, but when I click on “download layouts” nothing happens.
I assume that probably it is due to the fact that I do not have chosen any layout indeed.
For your knowledge let me inform you that I’m using a personalized version of Sydney theme (child) Version: 1.40 by aThemes

    Thanks again for your help.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Renato,

Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If the above doesn’t help, can you please try temporarily switching to the parent theme to see if that helps? I ask as there may be something in the child theme interfering.

Alex, please consider this post closed.
The issue was not related to PageBuilder but instead, to my wrong setting of the plugin that I’m using in order to display the last 5 posts.
Excuse me for the false alarm and for answering you so late.
    Thanks again for your help.
