Mobile website with Vantage Problem

11 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 11 years ago

Hi I recently updated my site origin theme with vantage. There is a major problem with it on mobile, my homepage keeps appearing like a flash when I am in the menu section of my website when I am on a mobile device. How can I fix this?

Kind Regards,
Sean

    Hi SD

All looks well on my side. Can you perhaps explain a bit more about what you mean when you say flash?

    Hi Andrew,

If you go onto my website on your mobile and click on menu. Once you have clicked on menu you will see my menu section. then if you scroll the page up and down with you finger you will see my homepage flashing/appearing for a split second. can you see it now?

Thanks for the feedback. This sounds like it might be browser specific. In Chrome iOS this isn’t happening. What operating system and browser are you using?

No problem. This is happening on the iphone 4s and the browser they are using is Safari?

Thanks for the info. I’m on a 5s but it’s really the version of iOS and Safari that matters. I’m one update behind on iOS, Safari is up to date. I’m unfortunately not seeing this problem. Do you perhaps know anyone else that could do a third test for us?

    Hi Andrew,

The site is working grand on a Samsung phone so it is just a problem with an iPhone. Can this be fixed?

There is unfortunately nothing I can see from my side to resolve this. I can only think that it’s happening on an older version of Safari as I’m unable to re-create. It’s possible there is an issue with an aspect of the menu’s JavaScript, although it’s not something that’s come up before. Is the flash happening on it’s own or when the menu fades in/fades out or when you click on a button?

Would it have something to do with the fact on my iPhone I am still using ios6? I have not updates my iPhone to ios8 yet.
Also could you tell me how I could me a footer and a header like the example of this website? It is using the same theme as me http://anastasiabeverlyhills.com/

    Thanks

Sure, it could be related to the iOS version. The version of Safari is what’s most important.

The site you’ve linked to is using the Magento ecommerce system, the theme is specifically for Magento, so not a WordPress theme. You can create a complex header layout by inserting a Layout widget into Appearance > Widgets > Header, add a layout and widgets from there. Vantage unfortunately doesn’t have a footer option like this theme but you could create your own widget layout at Appearance > Widgets > Footer, also by inserting the Layout widget and widgets into that widget.
