Good afternoon!
A pop-up window is incorrectly launched from the theme’s mobile menu. It seems to open and block the page, but it does not appear on the mobile screen (website: https://truegentleman.ru / , second drop-down menu, second link). At the same time, the same pop-up window opens perfectly via a direct link from the text. Any other pop-up window is also not displayed when starting from the menu. Everything works fine on the monitor from the standard menu.
Mobile menu in SiteOrigin North

Hi Dmitry
Thanks for posting your question.
I’ve had a look at the North mobile menu and Popup Maker. I can open the “Example: Auto-opening announcement popup” modal on mobile as a sub-menu item. It might be possible to make a small adjustment to your modal in Popup Maker to get it to work with the North mobile menu. As a test, please try the following:
– At AppearanceMenus, edit your main menu.
– Add a new Custom Menu item.
– Edit your Custom Menu item and select the Example: Auto-opening announcement popup option if available.
– Does the modal open on mobile? If so, are you able to adjust your other modals to get them to function in a similar manner?
Hi Andrew!
Thank you for the answer!
I added a new submenu with the value “Example: Auto-opening announcement popup”, but I can’t check the functionality, since this menu item just moves me to the top of the page or follows a link without causing any pop-up window. I would like to note that I set the call to my pop-up window precisely through the “Launch pop-up window” menu function and selecting the appropriate window in the list. Is it possible that you can make some edits to CSS or Java so that the window can be displayed on the mobile screen (since this window is perfectly displayed through third-party plugins for creating a mobile menu, but I like the native mobile menu of the theme)?
Hi Dmitry
Thanks for trying.
From a support perspective, I can log issues for our developer to investigate and I can try to help with what we have right now. Unfortunately, edge case issues like this will take some time to be looked at due to our limited resources and issues/features already under development.
Is the test item currently added to your menu?
Another option is to temporarily switch to our SiteOrigin Corp theme to test the mobile result. Corp could offer a very similar look and feel to North.
I added two menu items with the value “Example: Auto-opening announcement popup” – Categories and a custom “New” link. They are now displayed on the site. Tell me, please, if I switch to a new theme, will I have to rebuild the site or will all my blocks and settings be saved?
Only the settings at AppearanceCustomizeTheme Settings will need to be redone. Switching themes is more of a test; Corp might have the same issue. You can switch back when the test is complete.
The Test link doesn’t work for me on desktop. I’m not sure why that is. I unfortunately, can’t replicate the issue locally.
Unfortunately, the new theme has the same problem. Probably, the problem is still in the mobile menu of SiteOrigin themes, and to display pop-ups on the mobile screen, need to fix something in CSS or Java.
Thanks; I’ve confirmed the result. SiteOrigin Unwind can handle the modal but Corp, North, and Vantage aren’t currently able to. I’ll log a request for compatibility to be investigated and added. A short term solution might be to let https://wordpress.org/plugins/megamenu/ handle your mobile or mobile and desktop menu and see if it handles Popup Maker ok.
Thank you. I have installed a Mega menu, but it is not perfect either, although the pop-up window now opens. I will be waiting for information about fixing the compatibility issue. Thank you for your help and support.
Thanks for trying MMM.
I’ve logged a request but, unfortunately, can’t say when it will be attended to. We do our best with limited resources. Our developer is quite deep in new theme and addon work at the moment. Sorry I don’t have better news or a timeline to offer.
I understand. If there is an opportunity to write here when the problem is fixed, I will be very grateful.
Certainly. Thanks for reporting and your understanding.
Cheers, Andrew
