My new WordPress website, https://orionlegion.org, uses the SiteOrigin theme SiteOrigin Corp Version: 1.16.0. I am using very few and all standard plugins. The menu doesn’t work on mobile devices, even though it works on the preview from within WordPress.
Hi, thanks for reaching out.
Try seeking a working baseline by temporarily deactivating all plugins not authored by SiteOrigin, does the issue resolve?
Hi Andrew,
I deactivated all non-SiteOrigin plugins. The mobile menu now works. I reactivated each plugin one by one, testing the mobile menu each time, and now they are all reactivated and the mobile menu works. Weird, huh? I was expecting to find which plugin caused the issue, but now there is no issue and no culprit.
Super, glad to hear the issue is resolved. Mmm, that is strange. Usually, as you reactivate and test, you’d find the conflicting plugin. If the issue arises again, please, let us know.
Hi Andrew,
The issue arose again, so I went through the activate/deactivate process again. I found that the AMP plugin caused the issue. This is a pretty basic WordPress plugin, but I guess I have to make due without it.
When I originally checked it looked like the AMP plugin was inlining all CSS or at least minifying and compiling into a single file. If the plugin was doing that to the mobile menu CSS which is output into the header into a style tag, it could cause an issue. If the plugin in question has settings, you could look into those, specifically settings relating to CSS.
Ok, I'll check it out.
Sounds good :)
