I am having trouble with the display function on the phone when in portrait orientation. I have the responsive menu option checked and the pixel option of 480 set. Unfortunately, the pages are displaying both the responsive menu and the normal menu, which is wrapped into 3 lines.
Is there a way to only have the responsive menu show in the smaller mobile display?
The site is papersandpetals.com that this is happening on.
Thanks,
Josh
Hi Josh
Thanks for running Vantage.
Please try increasing your breakpoint to perhaps 680px and see if this resolves the challenge. I don’t think 480px is enough for the landscape view on smart phones.
Hello Andrew,
No problem. I like the environment and the customization controls. I had it set to 680 before, so the responsive menu button would show up, which it was before. I actually think the line where it stopped displaying only the menu button, rather than both the menu button and the full menu was when I upgraded to premium. On the smaller interface, I only want to have the menu button with it’s text and not the full menu on the page as well. Is that possible without having to change the css myself? I can go in and change the functionality myself, but this is for a client, so I don’t was to have to make a number of changes on the site every time they need to do a them or WP update.
Thanks,
Josh
Thanks for the follow-up. Ok I see the problem now, sorry for missing that a first. Can you try temporarily de-activating all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if there is any change there?
I went through and individually deactivated all of the plugins and had no change. I have cleared the cache as well to see if it is localized to my viewing. Still persisting. I have also checked the theme code and the support pages, and I don’t see the code where it translates the menu to hide itself when the responsive menu function is active. I know for sure it did it before the vantage premium upgrade, as I demo-ed to my client before I purchased the upgrade.
Let me know what you think…

Hi Joshua
I can’t tell exactly where it’s coming from, but there’s some extra CSS being added that’s overwriting the mobile menu’s CSS. This is causing the normal menu to be displayed all the time.
I’ve double checked and this definitely isn’t part of Vantage. Do you have any idea what might be adding this code?
Thanks Greg! that was it. I had added that to center the menu on the page. Is there an option to work with Vantage that allows for the menu to be centered but not have the side effect?
Thanks – Josh
