I am so frustrated, and Google WMT isn’t very helpful.
For months, Google Webmaster Tools has been showing micro-format data errors on every page/post of my site. More specifically, I am getting the following errors:
Structured Data > hentry (markup: microformats org)
Missing: Author
Missing: Updated
However, when I use their validator (“live” test while viewing the microdata/schema errors), it reports to me that the code is “all good”. The most recent date on the for those errors is 7/22 (2 days ago). I first noticed the errors back in June, so I did my due diligence and searched the Site Origin support forum for a solution. I found a thread wherein Andrew provided the OP (a Vantage user) with a child theme that apparently corrected the OP’s problem.
I implemented the same code into my preexisting child theme, but a month later I am still getting the errors. I guess I just don’t understand the Vcard and hentry stuff, because I swear I see those in my source code. Nevertheless, Since I also use Yoast SEO Premium, they recommended that I implement the code shown on the second url below. I just don’t know how to do that given that I have Andrew’s child-theme functions in place. Should I eliminate the functions in the child theme that address this problem and use Yoast’s solution? If so, which file would I add their code to? They suggest the single.php file, but I don’t have a file with that name. Also, are there any other files that I would need to modify?

Hey Chris
Can you please ZIP your child theme and email it me on Private Snippet.
Thanks :)
I reckon I can see what the issue is. Will do my best to get it sorted in your child theme.
Andrew,
I just sent an email to you. Just a heads up since the attachment may send it to your spam folder. Thank you for your help.
Chris
Got it. Thanks :)
