Menu navigation labels not displaying

I updated my theme from v 2.3 to 2.4 (I think) last night. The text labels for my navigation menu are not displaying. I checked to make sure that my CSS settings weren’t interfering with the display, and they are not (colors are all correct). Is this a glitch in the newest version of the theme? Can you send me a fix? My site is currently in maintenance mode, so if you need access, let me know and I will temporarily make it public for you. Thanks!

    Hi mravaioli

Sorry to hear about the hassle. Two ideas off the top of my head:

    1. Check Appearance > Customize > Theme Design and check the menu item color settings. Make sure those aren’t set the same as the background.

    2. Appearance > Menus, ensure your main menu is assigned to the theme’s primary menu location.

Failing the above, please send through a temporary set of login details and we’ll take a look. Instructions for that to follow, if needs be.

    If needs be….

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

Hey Andrew, I tested the theme by installing a prior version and the menu came back and works perfectly. So I think it is a problem with this new version. I went ahead and added your account, please let me know if you don’t receive the email. To access the login screen, please use /wplogin instead of /wp-admin.

When you login, the dashboard will say Vantage theme needs to be updated; please don’t do this because I purposefully installed an older version of the theme. I have two different versions of Vantage installed on my server. The theme that is currently activated is the most up to date one so you can see what I mean about the menu.

    Thanks for your help!

Thanks mravaioli. Please won’t you send an email from yourself if possible. For some reason automated mails from [email protected] aren’t getting through. We’ll look into the problem ASAP.

Hey I tried emailing the login but I don’t think the address you supplied is working! For now I will run the old version of the theme that is working as I need to launch the site.

Sorry about that. At some point when you’re ready to try the upgrade again, please email me on [email protected]. We can then arrange a time to check the site together and resolve the problem.
