menu bar too wide for boxed layout

Slowly but surely getting things to work as I wish. However, needed logo to be flush left in the masthead container. When I got this to work, mysteriously, the main menu bar grew from 1080px to 115px and stretched past the page width of the boxed layout. Need it to be flush with the page’s left edge. Welcome any solutions.
