Menu Bar on Home Page Inconsistent on Mobile Version

I am having an issue with the menu bar on the mobile version of my site. All of the pages of my site feature a non-sticky, non-responsive menu bar on mobile devices except for the home page. On the home page, the menu bar is sticky and gets so large when you zoom in that you cannot access the menu buttons.

I’ve played with the Theme Settings, but nothing seems to change. I don’t mind the site being non-responsive, but I’d like for the home page to behave the same as the other pages.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Manateehunter

    Thanks for reaching out.

Things look good on my side. When I view your site on my phone I see you have responsive turned off so the site is fixed. I can zoom, click a menu item and then land on my destination.

I do see the sticky problem though. Ideally that shouldn’t be on for mobile with responsive turned off. Please check Appearance > Theme Settings > Navigation > Mobile Navigation, that should be un-checked.

    Thanks, Andrew.

I un-checked the Mobile Navigation box. But the home page is still behaving differently than the other pages of the site. Now, the menu bar is sticky and resizing to a point, and then it becomes un-sticky. I’d like it to be static like the other pages of the site. When it resizes like that the menu buttons on the far right are unreachable.

    Any ideas?

    Hi, I Work Here

Ahh ok, I’m up to speed now. Sorry about missing that earlier. Phew, I have no idea yet. Let’s start with some easy stuff. Please try temporarily de-activating all non-SiteOrigin plugins at once. The cache in WP Super Cache should be cleared before de-activating it. Once all non-SiteOrigin plugins are de-activated let’s try re-testing the home page and see if anything is different.

I deactivated all of the plugins and reactivated them one by one, refreshing the home page on my iPhone each time. They’re all activated now and the problem seems to be nonexistent. Weird. See if it is working on your end. Thanks for your help. I’ll let you know if it happens again.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Manateehunter

Working my side. That’s a win! Might have been a caching problem. Really glad to hear you’re all fixed up.

Greg and I both like your site, it’s a really clean usage of Vantage, nicely done. Hope it does good things for your business.

Please let us know if you run into any challenges moving forward.

    Hey Andrew,

I happened to pull up the site on my phone again last night and the home page is back to not working properly. I’m gonna try deactivating plugins one by one and see what happens.

I deactivated WP Super Cache first – no change. Then I deactivated WordPress SEO – problem solved.

Reactivated WordPress SEO – no problem. Reactivated WP Super Cache – no problem.

I’m thinking the problem might be something to do with WP Super Cache since it doesn’t occur right away. There seems to be a delayed reaction in the problem appearing/disappearing when the plugin is activated/reactivated.

I’m going to wait until the problem comes back, then deactivate only WP Super Cache. I don’t know what to do from that point on, but at least I’ll have it narrowed down.

    Hi, I Work Here

Nicely done. You could take a look at your options in WP Super Cache, perhaps scale back to a more basic setup in that plugin. It depends what you have turned on.

You could also as an experiment try WP Fastest Cache. I like our simple it is. Seems to work well for me:
