Could not get Masthead image installed via Customizing▸Theme Design▸Page so I used CSS.
Additional CSS inserted using SiteOrigin CSS plugin.
When view on a mobile device all seems well – but only when the site is viewed in Portrait format.
If a phone or tablet is put in Landscape then the Masthead Image fills the screen making it impossible to view page contents.
(Issue seems to be made worse as menu does not remain as ‘Mobile’ when device in Landscape but reverts to words)
Any assistance on this would be gratefully appreciated.
I can supply an admin login to Dashboard if needed.
(I have previously installed a premium Vantage theme back in 2015 at http://sweny.ie/. No Masthead image used and whilst Masthead does not fully cover screen in Landscape it does cover a substantial amount of it.)

If you would like for the mobile menu to appear at larger resolutions, please navigate to WP AdminAppearanceCustomize, Theme SettingsNavigation and increase the Mobile Menu Collapse – try 768
Okay so onto the issue itself. So this is less an issue with the CSS you’re using to add the image and more related to the mobile menu not appearing (the above will tell you how to change this) and the menu being sticky.
If you would like to disable the sticky menu on mobile, please navigate to WP AdminAppearanceCustomize, Theme SettingsNavigation and untick Mobile Navigation.
