    Hi Pelsar,

For me to narrow down to where the issue may be, which text is missing?

    Please, let me know

    Hi Pelsar

The header widget area unfortunately doesn’t render when using the “Logo in Menu” layout option. So in this case you’d unfortunately need to consider adding your items as Links via Appearance > Menus.

    Thanks again for the wait.

The regular masthead is definitely an option. It’ll let you use the header widget area.
If you head to Appearance > Customize > General you can set header padding down to 1. Perhaps try a narrow header.
To blend the header a little you might try a masthead background that’s quite close to your menu background. The masthead background color can be set from Appearance > Customizer > Page.

Let us know how you come along with that. I’ve got email notifications turned on for this thread now so I’ll do my best to make the responses quicker than before!

so basically i have to use the regular heading (i just changed to that….) is there no way i can get that logo on the same line as the menu?, thereby making the header that much more narrow on top

    Unfortunately not within theme options.

If you’d like to give something else a try, I have a child theme, that when used with the Logo In Menu layout, adds a widget area in the right of the menu. You can find it here:

    https://siteorigin.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/vantage-child-logo-in-menu-menu-widget-area.zip

Install the ZIP from Appearance > Themes > Add New: Upload ZIP.

Keep in mind that Customizer and menu settings do reset when you add a child theme. Give it a go and see if that works for you. Once activated you can head to Appearance > Editor and edit style.css to tweak the exact positoning of the menu widget area.

The menu widget area will be available to you from Appearance > Widgets once the child theme is activated.

I tried to install….it didnt, and so i chickened out (given that i’m new at WP and am not confident in the “backup/restore process yet. I’ll go with the larger menu

so that leaves me with putting a popup menu in the right side via dhvc…but thanks for the efffort

There isn’t any risk in installing a child theme. Everything that it’s doing differently to the parent is contained within the child theme. If you’d like to troubleshoot the problem just let me know what happened when you installed it.

    Thanks
