The Site Origin Google Maps widget was working perfectly on our staging environment, but now that we’ve pushed the site up to live, it has stopped working. I’ve tried generating a new API key, but that doesn’t seem to have fixed it.
The site is http://www.boveyswimmingpool.org.uk/
It should appear next to ‘Where to find us’ just over halfway down the page.
Any ideas?
Hi Owain,
Google is stating that there isn’t an API key. Obviously, that’s not right so I suspect another plugin may be interfering. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
OK, I’ve discovered the problem.
It seems to be with the Events Calendar Pro, but only with the ‘Week View’ enabled – all other views work fine, there’s just something about that view that it doesn’t like, but that’s probably our most important site feature!
Hi Owain,
Oh. That’s not good! I’m sorry about this! :(
Is that a pro exclusive feature? (I’m asking so I know for the bug report)
Yes, the week view is only on events calendar pro
Hi Owain,
Thanks for letting us know about this. I’ve logged this as a bug in our issue tracker. Unfortunately, this likely won’t be fixed for a while so I would recommend using a different solution for Google Maps. Sorry mate. :(
