Before I set up a child theme, there was an update to my theme. After I updated the theme the content to my website was remove. How do I retrieve that content?

To clarify, what content specifically was lost? Was it changes to your theme? If so, sadly, that’s lost. To clarify, WordPress will revert the theme back to its initial state on Update. This is only avoidable by using a child theme.
