Lost Appearance>>> Customization

Hi Guys. I have (as a Premium user) sent various emails to support about my problem but to no avail. No replies. Don’t take me wrong Siteorigin has one of the best support teams and they always replied, so something must have gone wrong. So I try it in the forum.

My problem is that after a hack I lost Appearance>>> Customization. That is to say, the page is there but I cannot customize anything.

Everything else works flawlessly so I am a bit puzzled.

Did someone else have this problem as well?

Thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Harold,

I’m sorry to hear about this!

To clarify, what appears when you go to WP AdminAppearanceCustomize, nothing (as in, a blank white screen)? If that’s the case it’s possible you’re running into a memory issue. Such an issue will require a pretty hands on fix as you’ll need to edit wp-config.php through FTP. I would recommend giving this article a read as it’ll outline the steps to resolve this issue.

If you’re unfamiliar with FTP I would recommend asking your hosting provider for help on editing this file.

    Hey Alex

    Thanks for the hint.
I will take a look at that in a minute.
In the meantime I have attached a screen shot of the situation.
The page is not entirely blank as you can see but the options for
    customization are gone.

    Thanks again.

I added this to the top of my wp-config.php:

    //Increase WP Memory Limit
    define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’);

But that didn’t change the situation.

I have deactivated Page Builder and reactivated: negative.

I deleted Page Builder uploaded a new copy and installed: negative.

    Aaaaargh!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Harold,

    Sorry for the delay.

So that rules out a memory limit issue. To clarify, I suggested disabling SiteOrigin Page Builder as a way to test for a memory limit due to the complex nature of the plugin.

Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

If the above doesn’t help, the next step would be to try a full reinstall of Vantage Premium. Please fill out this form to have the latest version sent to you. Then navigate to WP AdminAppearanceThemes and change to a non-Vantage theme, then delete Vantage. Click Add NewUpload Theme and upload / activate the copy of Vantage Premium you just downloaded.

    Hey Alex

I had done that before to no avail.

Did it again today and lost Page Builder altogether now.

Pagebuilder settings pops up, but everything is dead.

The editing option does not appear on pades anymore.

Anyway I will install everything fresh in a new directory and see how I go there.
    I’ll keep you posted.

    Thanks for assistance.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Harold,

That’s odd – that definitally shouldn’t be happening. Let me know how the reinstall goes – that’ll tell us if it’s related to your WordPress install or something else.

    Just a final report Alex:

Plugin “WORDFENCE Security” seems to have been the culprit after all.

    Smooth sailing again. :-)

    Thanks again buddy!

    Harold.
