Live editor shows blank page

9 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 9 years ago

Hi ,

On my site Live editor shows blank page if SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle or Ultimate Addons for SiteOrigin are active. After deactivating one of them the problem is solved. What could cause that problem? Memory limit is 256 M, all other plugin are turned off and the problem is still occuring on other template.

Thanks in advance,

Best regards

    Hi Rafał

    Thanks for posting your question.

Please, could you recreate the issue and check for JS errors in your browser’s Console. Here is how: https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Your_Browser_to_Diagnose_JavaScript_Errors

    Hi Andrew,

What I got in Console is :

3wp-tinymce.php?c=1&ver=4208-20151113:4 The specified value "email *" is not a valid email address.
3wp-tinymce.php?c=1&ver=4208-20151113:6 The specified value "email *" is not a valid email address.
12wp-tinymce.php?c=1&ver=4208-20151113:6 The specified value "email *" is not a valid email address.

What is more the Live Editor is loading very slow in comparision to the rest of the site.

    Hi Rafał

    Thanks for the feedback.

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

Just navigate to UsersAdd New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the Send Password field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

Unfortunately, it looks to be a plugin conflict with Ultimate Addons for SiteOrigin. If you deactivate that plugin you’ll see the Live Editor works correctly. We’ll reach out to the developer and try to get that situation resolved. I’m not sure how many widgets you’re using from that plugin, if not many then you might try switching over to:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/widgets-for-siteorigin/

Ok, I switched off Ulitmare Addons, so I lost my testimonial slider. I replaced it with post carousel from cherry shortcode:

    [cherry_swiper_carousel posts_per_page="-1" tax_term="testimonial" order="desc" linked_image="no" content_type="full" slides_per_view="1" swiper_navigation_position="outer"]

And live editor is still not working!

Then, There is a page ‘Galeria’ where I did not put above shortcode and live editor works. When I add this carousel – editor stop working.

    What the hell?

How your testmonial slider and cherry post carousel are connected?

    Thanks for your feedback.

To quickly answer your question regarding how the testimonial slider and cherry post carousel are connected. SiteOrigin is the author of Page Builder by SiteOrigin and the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle. The SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle provides a framework that allow any other developer to add widgets if they’d like to do that. Ultimate Addons for SiteOrigin and the Cherry plugins aren’t authored by SiteOrigin, so, unfortunately, we don’t have control over their source code.

I’m taking another look at the challenge and will revert shortly.

Thanks for the wait. Are you able to login at the moment? I’m unable to login due to a cookies error. There are warnings present on your login page that might be helpful in isolating the challenge. carousel-horizontal-posts-content-slider seems to be the problem. If you’re able to deactivate that plugin via the WordPress admin it might help me to login.

If you’re aren’t able to login yourself then you could login to your server via FTP, go to /wp-content/plugins/ and temporarily rename the following plugin folder name:

    carousel-horizontal-posts-content-slider

You could for example, put an underscore in front of it:

    _carousel-horizontal-posts-content-slider

I’m sure we’ll be able to soon find a solution for this plugin conflict you’re experiencing.

    You can login now :)

    Thanks

A plugin conflict is causing the problem you’re facing. I’m not sure why the result changed, initially, when I checked, Ultimate Addons did cause the problem, I see now that it isn’t. It now seems that deactivating Cherry Shortcodes fixes the Live Editor, give that a try and let me know the result for you.
