Without using the Classic Editor plugin, if one has an existing page not showing the Live Editor button, can the page be ‘converted’ to where the Live Editor button will show? Perhaps I am asking if there a way to convert the page from Block Editor to Classic Editor, but I’m not sure.
Hi, thanks for reaching out.
There, unfortunately, isn’t an automated method at the moment to convert Block Editor pages to Classic. You could manually do it by exporting the layout from within the SiteOrigin Layout BlockLayoutsImport/ExportDownload Layout. You could then create a new Classic page from PagesAll Pages, use the drop-down arrow next to Add New to select SiteOrigin Page Builder. Once in Page Builder, LayoutsImport/Export: Import the layout. You’d need to delete the original page to free-up the permalink.
What I ended up doing instead was to load the ‘text’ HTML view, copy it all into a new page, then rename the page URLs, and that seems to have worked well.
But, where do I find the / SiteOrigin Layout Block /? It is probably right in front of me… Gary
Hi Gary
Thanks for the update, glad to hear you’re making progress.
When adding a block in the Block Editor, try searching for SiteOrigin, you should see the Layout and Widget blocks available.
