Hi, when placing the List Related Attachments widget on a webpage via SiteOrigin’s Page Builder and then trying to add attachments, the Media Libary box does not appear? I’ve added the widget to a default sidebar and it worked fine, but when trying to add attachments using the widget on SiteOrigin’s Page Builder the Media Library box refuses to open when I attempt to click the “Add Attachment” button. Please help!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Cesar,

This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

…I have installed a fresh copy of WordPress with the same theme and only with the Attach Files Widget and the SiteOrigin PagBuilder and still no luck. I am able to add the widget to my themes default sidebar through the Customization Settings, but I am unable to add the add attachments to the widget on SiteOrigin’s Page Builder as the Media Library box fails to appear.

    Hi Cesar,

I stand corrected. That plugin doesn’t seem to work inside of a Page Builder panel. I’m going to log this. What is your use case for this plugin? I might be able to recommend you an alternative.

    Hi,

Now worries! I would like users to be able to add attachments to their pages. Each department is going to need to post specific files and having everything on one page (the department page) makes it easier for guests to find the content they are looking for rather than creating a dedicated “documents” or “files” page for the department or manually creating a table and linking it to the files in their Media Library. This widget is supposed to mainly benefit the end user as it makes it easier to add attachments to their page.

Is this something that you will be working to get fixed?

    Thank you!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Cesar,

Sadly due to the overall inactive development of the plugin (2+ years since an update) and low active userbase (roughly 1k), it’s very unlikely. Based on your description, you should consider using a download manager type plugin. An example being WP-Filebase Download Manager and WordPress Download Manager
