Links won’t open in new tab despite target_blank setting

Hello – this was previously working. It’s a client site, so I’m unsure if they updated anything, but the links are still set correctly. The links are for pdf files, so behave differently depending on the browser – however, they were working fine in chrome and firefox – opening in a new tab and displaying the pdf file.
Now it looks like they are trying to open in a pop up window, which just gets stuck.

If you click on ‘floor plans’ you’ll see what I mean. It’s like it’s trying to open a gallery, but the link in the backend is just a straight forward link, it’s not associated with a gallery:a href=”http://ctocconstructions.com.au/anglesea-floor-plans/” target=”_blank”

Has anyone come across this before?

Thanks in advance

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Millymolly

    Thanks for reaching out.

It sounds like you might have a plugin conflict of sorts. I’ve taken a look around but couldn’t seem to find the Floor Plans page, could you perhaps confirm that link for us?

Ahh sorry, missed your link! One moment.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Please, try this:

Temporarily deactivate all plugins except for those made by SiteOrigin and your PDF viewer plugin.
Test the page: http://ctocconstructions.com.au/anglesea-floor-plans/. If the issue has resolved then you know a plugin conflict might be the issue. In this event, slowly reactivate your plugins one by one doing a test of the problem after each activation. When the issue reoccurs you would have found the conflicting plugin.

Let us know how that goes and apologies for the earlier confusion.

Hi Andrew – Thanks for your reply. The pdf viewer plugin was new, I was just experimenting as internet explorer 9 has issues with pdf viewing.

I fixed the issue .. I suspect it was a wp security update that caused it, but I don’t know for sure. However, that was the only change to the site after I left it in good nick.

After replacing the button image with text it is now behaving normally.

    Thanks
