Hi folks,
I’m finally changing my website from BeaverBuilder to SiteOrigin page builder, as a) your stuff is amazing and b) I’m a firm believer in free / open source software. I was able to rebuild my currrent one page website but line breaks and bullet lists disappear and I can’t get them in anymore.
This is the version built with BeaverBuilder:
And here is the hidden site where I try to recreate the same layout with SiteOrigin PageBuilder:
http://andisaitenhieb.de/startseite/
I copied the code (not the visual text) from the text editor widgets from the BeaverBuilder page to the SiteOrigin PageBuilder page, but the line breaks in the first paragragp are gone and the bullet lists in the rest of the page also.
I tried to add line breaks manually with
, I inserted bullet lists … it just doesn’t happen.
Does anyone have an idea what’s wrong?
Thanks so much for your help,
Andi
Hi there,
problem solved.
For anybody having the same or similar problems: Never ever copy & paste text into the text editor!
Always paste as plain text (click the button with the T in the text editor before pasting, than the text gets rid of all the formatting). Add formatting and links manually. Now everything works as it should without strange formatting errors and broken links etc.
(BTW: I copy/pasted not the visual text, but the code from the text view, but still these errors happened. Lesson learned: HTML code is not the same as HTML code when copying from one site / text editor to another. Always use text visual view and copy/pastes as plain text. ;-)
Best,
Andi
Problem solved, NOT.
While the line breaks are working properly now the unsorted lists are still not working.
I tried anything I could think of and even re-entered the text manually, check and unchecked the’add paragraphs automatically’, etc etc. The bullet points just don’t show (using SiteOrigin PageBuilder & SiteOrigin Editor widget).
Link see first post
Any help is much apprecated, after more than three hours of trying to get a proper simple list I’m starting to go nuts… ;-)
Thanks,
Andi
Finally, the solution from Greg Priday:
Thread: Bullet lists visible in the editor but not on the page
Unchecking one thing in the settings solves the incompatibility:
Also note Greg’s comment:
‘Usually all this means is that any styling your theme adds for widgets wont apply. Although this is usually a desired effect. Sometimes a few of the core WordPress widgets wont style properly, but if you’re not using too many of those, then everything should be good.’
