Layout/spacing completely different after recent SiteOrigin update

Hi, I have a website at www.pdxezbiz.com. Everything looked great, I logged in to update my plugins, and after updating SiteOrigin, the spacing is totally off…even though no edits have been made. Please fix…

    Hi Kamwpdev,

Unfortunately, due to our unfamiliarity with your websites, we’re not too sure what differences are present. Can you please highlight some of the differences? This will us to get a better idea of how these changes were made. Sorry about this whole situation!

Hi Alex, thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly! I actually removed the bit from my site, since it looked so bad. Please take a look here: https://pdxezbiz.com/siteorgin-spacing-problem/

The blue strip with “Call Us, Email Us, Meet Us” is where the problem is – before the update, the widgets were vertically centered, and there was no margin at the top. After the update, a margin appeared above the original row (it’s the chunk of space above the wording/icons/etc), and I can’t figure out where it came from or why it’s there. It literally just appeared after the update.

    Please help! Thank you!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Kamwpdev,

This spacing is coming from your theme so it must have been introduced in a recent theme update. Specifically, 30px of top margin is applied to all widgets.

To bypass this, please navigate to WP AdminSettingsPage BuilderWidgets and untick Add Widget Class, then save. How does that look?

Worked perfectly! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I admit I was surprised, I’ve never had a problem with Site Origin before, so makes sense it was the theme.

If possible, can you tell me how you knew it was the theme? This way I’ll be able to check for myself in the future (I use SiteOrigin a lot with various themes) so that I can avoid wasting your time in this forum?

    Thanks again!

    Hi Kamwpdev,

Happy I could help mate. :)
I used Chrome DevTools to work out what was applying it. I would recommend reading as it’ll explain what it is and how to use it.
