Hi, I use siteorigin page builder for my WooCommerce product layouts and I use WPML for translating products. However, when I start translating, the layout is not copied to the translation. Is there a way to fix this or workaround this?
Thanks!
Hi Yessi,
If you wish to start with the layout of the other language, you need to duplicate the page rather than creating a fresh page. Please refer to this page for more instructions, specifically this section.
Hi Alex, thanks for answering.
When I go to WooCommerce Multilingual to translate products, I don’t create a new product, but choose to translate product. THere I can copy all fields from the original to the new translation.
If I do that, the layout isn’t copied. There is not an option that is called “copy layout” or something.
Unfortanately you cannot even see the html for the layout, so you even can’t copy the layout code.
Hi Yessi,
That… that might be a weird limitation with WooCommerce Multilingual. I’ll send a message to Andrew if he has any ideas.
THank you!
If you need credentails to a testenvironment let me know.
Hi Yessi,
Will do.
In the meantime, I would clone the previous layout. It’s not the quickest thing in the world but it’ll you from having to recreate it.
Please open the newly created product and enable Page Builder. Click the layout button in the page builder toolbar and then open Clone: Products. Find and clone your the main language product.
So, you mean create a translation in WC Multilingual, save, then go to products, open the translation there and then load the clone and adjust the content?
Otherwise WordPress would’nt understand that it is a translation right?
Hi Yessi,
Preface: I’m really not familiar with WooCommerce Multilingual.
Are you stating that WooCommerce Multilingual, unlike WPML, is unable to do inline translations? By inline, I mean you can only translate products via a dedicated interface that’s 100% separate to the post. If this is the case, we’re not compatible with that. Sorry mate. :(
WooCommerce Multilingual is the addon from WPML for WooCommerce products. You can only change content for the products via this addon once activated and as far as I know is necessary for correct functioning for WPML in WOoCommerce. .
Hi Yessi,
Okay, I just had a look at the plugin page. We’re definitely not compatible with WooCommerce Multilingual. Sorry mate. :(

There’s no way for SiteOrigin Page Builder and WooCommerce Multilingual to currently work together. Please disregard all of my previous advice as it was made under the assumption that WooCommerce Multilingual functioned in exactly the same manner that WPML does – it doesn’t.
Ah, allright, too bad. I will try to find a workaround some other way. Thanks anyway!
