Hello,
the homepage of my website is built with the live editor of my theme (Mikonos by Theme Forest), through which you can insert all the widgets you need.
I inserted the layout editor widget to give the homepage a nice layout, it works, the problem is that the widget now does not respond to anything: it can not be opened and I can not modify the content, it can’t even be removed from the live editor, and unfortunately that is the only way to modify the homepage.
I tried to deactivate all the plugins except for Page Builder and Site Origin Widget Bundles, but the problem still exists.
I’ ve always used Site Origin page builder, it is great and I use it on all my pages; now I don’t really want to uninstall it.
Is there a solution?

Hi Adriano,
To clarify, are you not able to use the standard SiteOrigin Page Builder interface to edit the layout builder or does it not open when the live editor isn’t in use either?
If not, please try opening the layout builder and then please send me the contents of your browser console. Please refer to this guide on how to access your browser console.

the issue does not exist when I use Page Builder in wordpress standard dashboard; it shows up only in the Live Editor, and only in the homepage. Unfortunately the Live Editor is the only way to create and modify the widgetized homepage of my theme, and now waht I have created with the layout builder widget can not be modified beacause when I click on the widget there is no action, nothing opens.
When I click, the console gives this error:

To confirm, did you deactivate all non-SiteOrigin plugins when you ran the plugin conflict test? I ask as there’s an error present and it appears to be as a result of a different plugin. If so, did you try temporarily changing to a different theme?

when I run the plugin conflict, I deactivated all non-Siteorigin plugins except for the Themeforest one, necessary to run the website.
I did not try a different theme.

Please try changing the theme and deactivating all non-SiteOrigin plugins. If you’re worried about data loss, please do a backup.
If I change temporarily the theme, i' m sure the layout editor widget will work, just like now with the Mykonos theme when I insert new Layout Editor widgets; what I really need is to open and modify the widget already inserted in the homepage; if I change theme I won' t be able to edit that specific widget….i don' t know if I explained well, sorry :)
I just installed Twenty Seventeen theme, and there is no presence of the
Layout Editor widget in the live editor; some Visual Editor widgets survived to the change of theme, but not the Layout Editor, so I can not edit it in the new theme. I rolled back to Mykonos theme.

Yes, I can insert a new layout builder widget and rebuild the homepage, but how can I delete the present layout widget? I did not find a way to do it yet.

Based on my tests it appears to be a general theme issue. :(
With that said, I was only able to test using the version you’re using which appears to be quite out of date. Can you please try updating mykonos.
If that doesn’t work, I can forcefully remove the layout builder from your home page.

even if it can not be seen on “Appearences>Themes>Details” and not even in style.css, the theme is already updated with its latest version 1.2.4 (I have automatic updates through the Envato Market plugin).
Unfortunately this means the only solution is the removal of the layout builder widget from the homepage; it would be great if you could do that for me, thanks.
Is there a way to copy or export the content of the present layout builder of the homepage? so that I can rebuild easily the homepage after the removal.

I easily rebuilt the home page with a new layout editor widget; now it works and I can modify and save everytime I need to change something. I hope the issue will not show up again.

Hi Adriano,
I would recommend backing up the layout every now and then to prevent you from having to completely rebuild if something happens again. You can backup a layout by opening the layout button in the page builder tool. Click Import/Export and then export the page.
