Layout Builder not mobile responsive?

Hello!

I am having issues using the layout builder widget. The row I am working with is a full width stretched layout with a background image. In this row I have a Visual Editor widget with a headline and description, then beneath that I have the Layout Builder widget. This widget has two rows, each with 3 columns, and each column has a Visual Editor widget. It works beautifully on a desktop and is responsive to some degree, but when the screen gets too small the items never stack, they just disappear to the right of the screen.

Here is a link to the website: http://www.equinevetob.com

The section that is giving me issues is “Our Clinic”. I have a very similar layout in the other rows, but they behave appropriately and stack when the screen is small. I did not have to use Layout Builder in those rows since I could use columns.

Any ideas?

    Hi Chughes,

I’m unsure why this is happening but the layout builder is, well it’s meant to be, is as responsive any normal page builder. By the looks of it, the responsive CSS just doesn’t kick in. Hm. Can you please navigate to WP AdminSettingsPage Builder and open the Content tab. If Content Cache is ticked, please untick it – how does that look?

Would it be possible for you to send me an export for your home page? To do this please open the home page in the editor and click layout in the Page Builder toolbar. Then click import/export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as teknik.io.

      Hi Alex,

Thanks for taking the time to check this out! Content Cache was not enabled in settings. I double checked my custom CSS, but I don’t think I have anything conflicting there.

Here’s the URL to the exported home page: https://u.teknik.io/URSl5.json

    Hi Chughes,

Thanks. I just tried the provided layout and it’s responsive. This suggests a possible plugin conflict. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If that doesn’t help, can you please temporarily change to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

      Hi Alex,

SOLVED. I was using a different visual editor for my content, which works with the other rows, but not the Layout Builder. Switching to SiteOrigin Visual Editor solved it!

I wish I had thought of that. Thanks for all of your help!
