Hello,
I am creating a custom masthead using the layout builder widget in the masthead area, but none of the css styling that works on widgets in other areas of the page work on widgets in the layout builder masthead. I copied a widget from the sidebar to the masthead to check, and the styling was removed.
Another question if you don’t mind – will creating the masthead using layout builder (rather than the default) affect SEO in any way?
The site isn’t published yet, so I can’t send the link publically, but I can privately if you need it.
Hope you can help, thanks in advance
John
Hi John,
I suspect this is happening as a result of how your theme outputs widgets in the masthead. Can you please try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related?
If that doesn’t help, can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
No, it’s fine.
Hi,
Thanks for your quick reply. I sorted it out – I needed to use specific references in css, like #masthead…
Thanks again,
John.
