Latest Version Update Removed Content from Site

Hi –

Today I saw there was an update available for Site Origin PageBuilder. When I updated the plugin, my homepage lost all seven of the content image boxes just below the main slider on this site:

Home-Current

Also, down the page in the blue row (register your ride & book your room) a large solid blue box ended up behind that text. Just below that where our sponsor logos are, after the update the logos were left-justified.

At first panic set in because I didn’t know plugins could be rolled back. (I’m pretty new to WP.) Did a little Googling and found another with a similar issue of a broken site after the update. Learned about a rollback plugin and tried rolling back to the previous two minor version updates. Neither worked. I had to roll back to 2.4.25 in order to get my content back. Whew! I thought my content was dead.

Can you advise on what the issue might be?

Thanks.

    Hi Cakins,

So, to clarify, did the SiteOrigin Page Builder display the structure correctly when editing the page or were things just not visible on the frontend (or both)?

I wasn’t sure about the back end, but just updated and then rolled back again to check.

On the backend – the page structure seems to be fine after the plugin update. It’s just the front end, and only certain content blocks were affected.

I just looked more closely at the back-end structure and discovered that of the three content areas affected, two were PageBuilder layout elements holding content widgets from my paid, premium Ascend theme (by Kadence Themes). In one of these, the content disappeared completely. In another the content took on a solid color background where it had been transparent.

The final content area affected was all PageBuilder layout and widgets. In that case the image grid changed from centered to left-aligned.

    Hi Cakins,

    Very sorry for the delay.

I would try updating and then navigate to WP AdminSettingsPage Builder and open the Layout tab. Set Use Legacy Layout Engine to Always. That should correct most, if not all of the issues. Also, regarding the Ascend issues, would it be possible for you to update your theme? According to the theme’s changelog the latest version is 1.1.3.
