Issues with Unwind theme.

Hello,

I’m considering upgrading to SO Premium, however I need to see how easy it is (or not) to modify the free themes you make available.

At the moment, I’m using Unwind as a theme template for www.prevalentequity.com. I need to make several changes to it that are critical. Additionally, there are problems attached to display and SEO that I need clarification about and might not be related to the theme but to Page Builder itself and/or other SO plugins.

1. Header. I want to: a) eliminate space originally made for social media icons and ‘search’ feature. I don’t need any of these. b) add the site logo (the one currently displayed at the top of the page) to the left of the header in a much smaller shape. c) place the menu on the right of the header as opposed to currently on the left on desktop.
2. I want to eliminate the huge space where the site logo is currently displayed. This is way too big and I’d like the logo only displayed in the header as per my 1) above. There’s currently no way to edit that space. I assume this is also part of the header, but I’m not sure.
3. I’d like to add links at the bottom of the page to be displayed across the website… I imagine I need to create a footer for this. However, there is currently a space reserved for the copyright line and what I want is the footer with links to be on the same footer as the copyright. The current widget that lets the user change the copyright line does not allow this and is actually different from the footer widget. How can I have all the links and copyright on the same footer?
4. When in tablet or smartphone mode, the main menu is presented as a scroll down icon. The problem here is that on the home page, when tapping on the menu icon, part of the menu is hidden behind the ‘hero’ widget. How do I make sure this does not happen?
5. The theme comes with various SO widgets and various LiveMech widgets. I’m just wondering if I should get rid of the LiveMech widgets for UX design purposes as a lot of widgets from SO and Livemech are the same. However I don’t want to mess up the template design. Is it safe to deactive Livemech?
6. I added Yoast SEO. The problem here is Yoast does not see / count the page or post content (words, images etc) created in Page Builder or created in widgets such as SiteOrigin Editor. In other words, Yoast sees the page and posts as blank (apart from the title, if the title is created within the WordPress editor). Is there a solution around this?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Maxperf,

1a. The menu will automatically fill that empty space if that stuff isn’t enabled.

1b. Unfortunately, this isn’t currently possible but I’ll log your feature request.

1c. You can use CSS to do this.

    2. You can actually completely replace that area with whatever you like. Please navigate to WP AdminAppearanceWidgets and add your desired widgets to the Masthead widget area – I recommend the layout builder which is a SiteOrgin Page Builder in widget form. When a widget is present in the masthead widget area the default site title is hidden in favor of the widget.

You can adjust the spacing added in this section by navigating to WP AdminAppearanceCustomize, Theme SettingsHeader and adjsut the Header Padding setting.

    3. This text can be edited by navigating to WP AdminAppearanceCustomize, Theme SettingsFooter and adjusting the Footer Text. Based on your description you would be better off blanking this field and adding the text via the Footer Widget area instead.

    4. I can’t seem to replicate this. Do you by any chance have a public URL where I can take a look at the issue? This would be the best way for me to diagnose what’s going on.

    5. Perfectly safe. All plugins (including our own) are completely optional.

    6. Have you enabled copy content in Page Builder? If this setting is disabled Yoast will not be able to read your post data. Please navigate to WP AdminSettingsPage Builder and open the Content tab. Ensure that the Copy Content Tab is enabled. Now (regardless of whether it was ticked or not) please open a page that has issues and make a few adjustments to the editor widget (you must type something into the editor) and then save. Has Yoast updated its content?
