Issues with metaslider image width in Safari and circle icons in Ie

Hello,

First of I would like to give a massive thanks for such an amazing theme, my website is turning out awesome and it is largely due to the ease of use of your theme and accompanying plug ins.

Anyhow, I am having a couple issues that would be highly appreciative of assistance on.

The first issue I am having is the image width within the meta-slider not adjusting to the window width properly in Safari.

The other issue I am having is within the circle icons in Internet Explorer. I have some within my homepage and other places where there is no icon just a background image within the circle. It appears that in IE the background images do not re-size and the circle background actually does not show up.

If your team might be able to provide insight into these issues I would really appreciate it!

Best,

Rocco

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Rocco

    Thanks for your support and feedback.

    I’m testing in OS X Safari, but all looks well with the slider on my side. Did you perhaps make progress after posting?

    It sounds like IE might have a background image issue. Can you perhaps try adding the following to Appearance > Custom CSS and see if that helps:

    .home .circle-icon-wrapper {
    height: 100px;
    width: 100px;
    }

    Hi Andrew,

    Thanks for your speedy response.

    I have not made progress on the slider. I am not at that computer right now, but it is an older laptop with a Mac OSX version from a couple years ago, potentially that could be an issue, but I am hoping things can function properly on most devices that are relatively current. Anyhow, I have tried adding code to remove the max image width within the slider with no success. That code is currently not there, but maybe i formatted it incorrectly…

    I did go ahead and add the code for the circle icon, but it doesn’t seem to have made an difference. Let me know if you see something different.

    Thanks a ton!

    Hi, I Work Here

    For sure. In terms of Safari, we’re all good on the latest version. Hard to say what the problem might be on an older version.

    Which version of IE are you testing on?

    I am testing on Internet Explorer 8.0.7601

    Hi, I Work Here

    Thanks for the feedback there. We do our best to try gracefully degrade for IE8 but unfortunately don’t officially support it.

    We have a new Circle Icon widget out, it’s called the Features Widget, one idea would be to try that in a test page and see if it’s rendering in IE8 any differently. The Features widget is part of our Widgets Bundle plugin.

    Another option might be to prepare the circle images in a photo editor before saving theme. You could cut them out as circles and then use something simpler like the Visual Editor widget to add the text and image.

    Appreciate the help Andrew, I think I will figure something out, if nothing else I’ll just resize the images to 100×100 so they just appear square if somebody is using an old browser, just wasn’t sure if there were any quick fixes for these issues. On current browsers, and especially Chrome everything functions flawlessly.

    Thanks!

    Hi, I Work Here

    I think that’ll be the best fallback solution. Sorry I don’t have a quick fix for this one. Thanks for your understanding.
