Hi,
I would need to have some counters (countdown) inserted in the homepage of a website. I tried to insert many plugins and all of them are working in an empty page or in the footer, but it seems none of them gets activated in the homepage components of vantage theme.
Anyone any experience in getting jQuery counters up and running in homepage?

I personally would recommend using the excellent Widgets for SiteOrigin plugin. It has a number of different counters that you can choice from and it’s actively supported and well maintained.
If you’re looking to add a direct jQuery script for use on our theme I sadly cannot provide advice for this. It’s outside of the realm of support we offer here and I would highly recommend using a plugin instead.

I’ll try to work with the available widgets. On the other hand I am still curious to find out the technical reason why this is not possible.

I can’t really answer that question as I’m not sure what you were originally using. With that said (based purely on not knowing your technical ability), it’s very likely you were running into a jQuery.noConflict() issue. WordPress by default runs in no conflict mode.

Most likely this will be the reason. I am not a real technical guy but this seems to be an acceptable explanation. For this project I found some work arounds to avoid the use of jQuery. For any future project I will try to find a way to solve the noConflict issue.
