Issue with Origami and Page Builder

9 years ago · Last reply by OlinLee 9 years ago

I am using the Origami theme and Page Builder. When I use an image slider on the home page the menus drop down behind the slider. How do I fix this?

Many thanks in advance.

    Hi OlinLee,

    Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.

    Hi Alex,

    Thanks for getting back to me. My apologies for not responding sooner.
    The URL is http://www.etiquetteschoolofireland.com/
    I have had to replace he slider with a static image to stop this from happening.
    Some customers were complaining that the courses they wanted were not visible from the home page because of this issue.

    Is there any way you can advise with the slider not in place?
    Would a few screen grabs be a help?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi Olin,

    Would it be possible for you to create a page (with a slider) just for the purpose of this issue so I take a look at it? I need to be able to inspect the markup to resolve this issue so a screenshot won’t really help.

    Hi Alex,

    Thanks for the work around, I guess that’s why you have your job and I have mine!!

    This is the test page I threw together. http://www.etiquetteschoolofireland.com/test-page/
    If you go to the test page and hover your mouse over the ‘Courses’ link you will see the drop down menu only shows the top 3 courses in the list. If you do the same from any other page the full list is available.

    Many thanks in advance for your help in sorting this out.
    Also, I am not a teckie, so could you please make your answer luddite friendly!!

    Best,

    Olin.

    Hi Olin,

    You can fix this with some custom CSS. If you navigate to AppearanceCustom CSS, you’ll get our custom CSS editor. Add the following CSS:

    #menu ul li ul {
    	z-index: 999;
    }

    You might also need to install the SiteOrigin CSS Editor.
